Spirit Commissioner 31 August, 2021 August ASB Formal Report Position Assessment: As my duties as a spirit commissioner, I have indulged in the selling of Pride Tribe T-shirts, during orientation and a club rush. This helps spread school spirit to parents and other contributors, who seem to love the shirts. I have also collected information on spirit counts within Ripon high classes for club rush spirit week, red and white spirit days and other spirit days. These days I pass out candy to those who have participated. Contributed to school-wide events, I have helped publicize club rush week and helped spread information about upcoming events. Standing Committee: Referring back to my position assessment as of right now, I have participated in the dance publicity spreading information online about the details for the dance. My team and I, Payton Miller Kay, Allie Camara, and Brianna Alverez, have spread spirit through spirit counts and the selling of shirt through Pride Tribe. Special Committee: Unfortunately at this point, I have not been a part of any special committees, but will be participating more throughout the year. Membership Evaluation: While being a new member to the leadership family, I have felt that the mentor program has helped me in many different ways. Gabbi Iliardi helped me create my website and I was able to see the standards of what we are required to do. Unfortunately I was quarantined in the beginning of the second week of school making it hard to keep updated on all the important details in class. Thankfully, Gabbi kept me updated on everything going on that week, while also checking up on me during my absence. Concerns: Due this school year just starting, I do not have too many concerns other than being successful in my role as a spirit commissioner. Although I do not have the biggest responsibilities in this program, by doing my best and providing excellence with my work will help this year go by smoothly. Positive Comment: One positive comment I have is the family-like atmosphere we have in this class. Because this is only my first year in the program, the welcoming atmosphere made it a very easy transition into leadership. One change: One change that I have noticed within the programs is the repetition of spirit days. Although it is fairly hard coming up with ideas that everyone can do, however, by alternating them every year or so would make spirit days different and fun. Impact: With the position as a spirit commissioner, I impact the school with information about events and bring spirit to the school. I believe that I have helped fellow students embrace their school spirit this year. Lucia Machado Perez
Spirit Commissioner October 26 2022 September/October ASB Report Position Assessment: Throughout the months of September and October, my fellow spirit commissioners and I continued tallying spirit counts and passed out candy on spirit days. Especially during the week of homecoming, we filmed videos asking what our fellow teachers would wear which was posted on the Ripon High School ASB Instagram story to help promote the themes and spirit throughout the week. Standing Committee: Stated in Position Assessment, I tallied and passed out candy on spirit days throughout the week of September and October. Special Committee: During the times of homecoming, I was a member of the coronation committee. Along with helping setting and expressing my ideas, I helped set up the risers and bring up the boxes to the candidates during the coronation segment at powerpuff. I also was present in helping my class build and construct the float, window, and poster for homecoming. Mentorship Evaluation: Along with having mutual friends, Gabbi continued to help me throughout these stressful months keeping me intact on all the little details I should know. Making it clear that I could always look to her if I needed any help or advice with stuff even outside of leadership. Gabbi helped keep me organized throughout these months by simply being someone I could relate to and talk to; making these months go with ease. Concerns: In my humble opinion, I believe that our school has a pretty high percentage of spirit; however, some students seem to not know when spirit days and other asb events go on. Other than just posting on social media, if we made bigger posters, etc. the involvement of the student body would increase due to having prior knowledge more accessible. Positive Comment: One positive comment I would like to make is to commemorate all the hard work the officers have done these past months. So much time, sweat and tears (literally) over these events that turned out amazing. It really made an impact on my views for leadership as it is my first year, and I could say also for the student body. One Change: One change I would like to see upon this program is an increase of involvement and excitement through the school. My Impact: Through thick and thin, one impact I have placed upon my peers is my efforts to always be kind. You never know what others are going through and the exercises we do in leadership really impacted my views on that. Never judge a book by its cover, for being kind can only take a second out of your day. ASB Formal Mtg Nov/Dec
Position Assessment: In the months of November and December, my fellow spirit commissioners and I helped bring spirit with the publizing of Winterfest, and the passing out of candy on spirit days. Dressing up for each day, and helping put up posters around the school. Decorating for winterfest is something that I am currently doing now. Standing Committee: I continued collecting spirit counts and passing out candy to those who participated in the spirit days. Special Committee: I helped with the setting up of formal, and sold tickets for formal too. Also, the spirit commissioners and I have created themes for basketball games and are going to decorate the gym for specific home games, Escalon and Ripon Christian. Our plan for this is to create more athletic school spirit for sports during this winter season. Mentorship Evaluation: During this month of stress with the holiday season and finals, Gabbi Illardi has helped me immensely with keeping on track of my work in leadership and outside of leadership. By giving me advance on academic questions I have about my future, and helping with any questions I have about leadership, I have begun to really trust her. Over the past few months we have gotten closer and bonded in a friendly manner. Due to this, it has really helped me feel welcome in the leadership family. Concerns: One of my concerns does not affect me directly, but has caught my eye. Due to the sophomore class throwing the Winter Formal dance and Warm and Fuzzy week, and the large amount of work they have had to do, I have noticed a few members not fulfilling their job. This has made others pick up their work, during this stressful time already. Positive Comment: I believe Winter Formal was a large success bringing in a large amount of money and enjoyable. From what I have heard from non-leadership members is that this was one of their favorite dances so far. My Impact: One of my goals I keep with me everyday is treating others the way I would like to be treated. This allows me to really take a step back and evaluate what I am saying/doing and how I would feel if others did it to me. Especially during finals seasons, everyone is stressed and being negative or mean to others helps no one. ASB January
Position Assessment: In this month of January, my fellow spirit commissioners had many events going on. We helped decorate for Winterfest and continued collecting and giving spirit counts and candy to those who participated. Along with this, we created ideas and themes for the boys varsity basketball games and decorated the gym for every home game. We created an online post to help spread the word about said theme for that day. Also, we have communicated and come up with ideas for a new pride tribe shirt. Standing Committee: I continued passing out and helped greatly in the making of posters for winterfest. I am currently communicating with Pendleton with new t-shirt designs for the pride tribe and discussing days to sell the old shirts. Special Committee: Boys basketball season is primarily in the month of January, making decorating and brainstorming ideas a “special committee.” We spread the word of such themes through instagram and blew up balloons, threw streamers, and wrapped the railings in the gym. Mentorship Evaluation: With the beginning of a new trimester, Gabbi Illardi has helped me immensely. With the stress of the year almost being over, Gabbi has given me advice about classes I should take in the future years and for leadership. Although she is only a year above me, She truly holds so much wisdom, for she has experienced another in-person year than me. Although She has been busy with her leadership duties, we have made an effort to talk as much as we can. Concerns: One concern I have is the broadcasting of leadership events for the school. Many students barely know what is happening and by figuring out a better way to showcase what we are doing this might help increase spirit and numbers at events. Positive Comment: One positive comment I have is that I feel like we as a leadership family have grown together since last trimester. The discussion and talk we had, to me, was very beneficial and brought us closer. One Change: Although we have not reached the end of the year dance, one change/recommendation is to change the theme from Hawaiian and USA to something different and out of the ordinary. For example Ripchella. While talking to Ana, I believe if we had a unique, fun and interactive idea this would bring excitement among the student body. The theme is relatable in a sense that everyone knows what it is. My Impact: My impact this month was being an example of school spirit. |

February & March - ASB Meeting
Position Assemesent: For the months of March and February, my fellow spirit commissioners and I have continued our spirit counts and broadcast our spirit through going all out for dress up days. We also have continued communicating with Mrs. Pendleton about creating and designing a shirt for the next school year. Also, we are finishing selling Pride tribe shirts at 8th grade Athletic Night, and AP night to allow incoming and current students and parents to have spirit wear to support and showcase our pride.
Standing Committee: I helped set up and take down the gallery of the arts and continued to assist the sophomore class on activities that need to be helped with. I helped cut card the Modesto Conference and also helped stuff bags too.
Special Committee: One special committee that I am in is flyers/posters. For the challenge my group is going to pass out flyers on cars to spread positivity and to let the people know that there is dance coming up. We are also incharge of brainstorming and creating posters to hang up all around the school about the week before the dance.
Mentorship Evaluation/Completion: Throughout these months, Gabbi and I have continued to check on each other making sure we are okay during this stressful time of the year. Helping me with my website for the professionals to view, I also helped her with hers.
Concerns: One concern I have is our communication between each other could be a little bit stronger, and more efficient. I believe we already do a great job right now, however, reiterating things could be more beneficial.
Positive Comment: One positive comment I have about the program is that we have grown together as a whole program. From the beginning of the year, as a whole program has been through our ups and downs and, to me, I feel like we have been more like a family than ever.
One Change: One change I would like to see in the program is more unity with the freshman and the upperclassmen.
Impact: My impact these months was to showcase positive attitude and school spirit among campus.

ASB Meeting Mtg- the final months
Position Assessment: As we finish this year off, the spirit commissioners and I concluded our spirit counts and Abby Thomas calculated the class who had the most spirit. The Seniors won, and will be receiving donuts during advisory on Thursday, May 19. We went through some difficulties figuring out a treat for the seniors with companies raising their prices or not being possible for our situation. We also contacted Just Reward to add the Seniors to the plague in the attendance office. We will also be giving the Seniors their plague at the end of the school rally to acknowledge their spirit throughout this year. We also sold Pride Tribe shirts at 8th grade Athletic night and through the week of May 16 - 20 during lunch at a reduced price.
Standing Committee: Stated in the position assessment, I continued to take inventory and sell Pride Tribe t-shirts from years past, making room inthe student store. I have also consulted with Pendleton making t-shirt designs for the following year to sell.
Special Committee: The challenge consumed the last few months of leadership, and I was in the poster committee. Payton, Addy H, and I came up with a design encouraging others to keep up their academic studies and to not forget about the dance on canva nd printed about 150 copies. Derek, Abby H, and I went out on May 3rd during fourth period and put them on the cars in the student parking lot. When it came to the day of the dance, I showed up to the help set up and did my shifts along with others.
Mentorship Evaluation: As these few months have been pretty hectic, Gabbi I has continued to stand by my side and answered all the silly small questions I had. She was a great help to just go, but also someone to talk to. Renaissance is a very consuming role in leadership and I put that into consideration .
Concerns: One concern that I have come up with from the past few months is the timing of work. I understand that April and May are our busiest months of the year, and are considered “Hell Months.” However, school and sports are also going on and by assigning “busy work” during class or not assigning work days for a few days may cause more stress in the classroom than it should have. For the poster situation for the challenge (about the physical posters) I feel like there should have been more order among the group, and more communication. Those in charge of the posters never reached out to me and a few other people and if they needed help I would have been more than glad to take on a responsibility and make a poster. A lot of blame was placed on the hands of Emily, which was not completely fair.
Positive Comment: One positive comment I have is that I feel like the whole class has become more comfortable with each other. We have realized the mistakes we have made this year and are prepared to go into this next year confident and excited.
Change: One change I would like to see is more bonding time in the classroom. Although we are one big family, there are cliques for the most part and if we would take a day or two more out of the year to bond as a class I believe that there would be less chaos in the classroom.
Impact: One impact I have made for the past few months and this year is by being a comedic relief even if it was a little bit annoying. I feel like I am someone anyone can go to if they need to talk about random little things.
